The 2010 Haitian earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 earthquake.

Its epicentre was near Leogane Haiti, approximately 16 miles west of Port-au-Prince Haiti.

The earthquake occurred at 4:53 local time on Tuesday, 12 January 2010, at a depth of about 8 miles.

The Haiti earthquake killed close 200, 000 Haitian people and many foreigners in Haiti.
