Belladere Haiti, the welcome sign and a little bit of history...

Belladere Haiti, the welcome sign and a little bit of history...

Have you ever been to Belladere Haiti? Belladere is a great city to visit if you happen to be in the Plateau Central region of Haiti.

This is the original welcome sign of the city of Belladere when it was elevated to the rank of commune back in 1948.

Here is a little history of Belladere that you probably didn't know:

The original name of Belladere was Vella-Dera, a Spanish name.

Belladere was founded in the beginning of the the 19th century but it became the 'Commune de Belladere' in 1948 when former Haiti President Dumarsais Estime rebuilt and established the city.

Under the administration of Dumarsais Estimé, Belladère was the flower of the Central Plateau, an interesting cultural, intellectual, commercial and political crossroads.
